I am Sara Zehnder, and I am currently a Junior at Sumner High School in Washington State. My family has lived in the Sumner area and attended Sumner High School for the past 125 years. My father has worked for the Fire Department for over 25 years, and my mother joined a start up coffee business and travels to countries all over the world in search for that perfect cup of Coffee. My two sisters are active in athletics and also attend school in the Sumner School District.
I am a high school student with a deep passion for soccer and a relentless drive to pursue excellence both on and off the field. I aspire to continue playing soccer and furthering my education at the college level. I possess the skill, dedication and love for both education and soccer. I have demonstrated the skill, dedication and love for soccer. I am super excited about playing at the next level. I know I can be a major contributor while reaching my educational goals.
I have played club soccer at Washington Premier for the past decade and currently play on the WPFC G05/06 ECNL Composite Team. I have played defender, midfield, and forward while at WPFC. I currently split time as a forward and midfielder. I have played Varsity Soccer at Sumner High School for past 3 years and am excited for my upcoming Senior Season.
I have competed in FFA (Future Farmers of America) Food Science & Technology event for the past two years at the state and national level. My Food Science & Technology team has won two Washington State championships and I placed 1st individually overall out of 140 competitors in the Food Science & Technology event for the state of Washington in 2023. I earned an individual silver rating at the FFA National Food Science Technology event competing other state winning teams throughout the nation in 2023. I am very involved in Honor Society, coaching kids sports and volunteering in my community. I also enjoy skiing, basketball, baking, cooking, and water sports.

Participated in the national competition for Food Science with FFA, achieving an individual ranking of 67th and a team ranking of 25th in the nation.

My high school soccer team emerged victorious in the SPSL (South Puget Sound League) and West Central Districts, earning us a spot in the prestigious Elite 8.
